Franke at Seaside – A Southern Seaside Afternoon

Details: The Third Annual Franke Affaire is a classic Sunday afternoon Southern barbeque and fish fry with the "wine of the south" (that's sweet tea!) along with beer and wine and a spread of Southern desserts, all included in your ticket price and served with the natural charm and hospitality for which the South is known. So pull out your shorts and sundresses and sandals for one last beach party of the season; come ready to eat, drink, and be merry—and of course show off your dancing skills! *Conductorcise—Conduct Your Way to a Healthier You

Details: Don’t forget about our newest exercise craze—Conductorcise.  The uniqueness of CONDUCTORCISE® is born out of natural body movement and our physical response to music. Participants are made aware of rhythm, form, color through use of instruments, and the creative process. The music ranges widely, from marches by John Philip Sousa and Johann Strauss to beloved concert, ballet, and operatic classics of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Dvorak to brilliant showpieces by Offenbach, Rimsky-Korsakov and Copland. *Remington Concert: Chamber Music Charleston

Details: The Franke at Seaside Remington Concert Series will kick of the 2001-2011 season with Chamber Music Charleston. All concerts of the Remington Concert Series are free and open to the public; seating is available on a first come, first served basis.

 

 

*Fundraiser: Fiesta Taco Lunch for the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

Details: Franke at Seaside will host an Italian Spaghetti Lunch Fundraiser in Rodenberg Hall for the 2010 Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. *The Franke Chorus Rehearsal
Date: Tuesdays at 3:30 pm in Rodenberg Hall

Details: The Franke Chorus kicks off its Fall season of rehearsals and concerts on Tuesday, September 7 at 3:30 pm, with rehearsal in Rodenberg Hall. The 2010 Holiday Concerts will be on Friday, December 3 at 7:00 pm and on Sunday, December 5 at 3:00 pm, both in Rodenberg Hall. As The Franke Chorus grows, the group continues to invite new voices of all types—soprano, alto, tenor, and bass—who simply enjoy singing, as well as instrumentalists for accompaniment and solos during the concerts! Details: The Life Enrichment Department of Franke at Seaside presents Men’s Brunch, featuring Bob Forte on working with Andy Rooney; Men’s Brunch is catered by Executive Chef Mike Carter, Franke at Seaside.   Men’s Brunch is held monthly in Rodenberg Hall at Franke at Seaside to celebrate the men of Franke at Seaside and the lives they have shared with others and with us.

*Community Bridge

Location: Rodenberg Hall

Details: Franke at Seaside will host the monthly meeting of Community Bridge in Rodenberg Hall. Coffee and pastries will be served in the morning and lunch will be provided at noon. *Alzheimer’s Support Group

Location: Mappus Conference Room, Franke at Seaside
Details: Join us on Tuesday, September 21 at 6:30 pm in the Mappus Conference Room for our monthly support group meeting as we discuss the challenges that many residents and family members face with Alzheimer’s and dementia related illnesses.   • Enjoy a wonderful Fall Festival, with music by local artists, lunch by Chef Enzo, and lots of fun!
  • Local talent from our musical residents, including Emily Remington, the Men’s Barbershop Chorus, The Charming Chimers, and more!

Franke will be welcoming organizations such as the Franke Volunteers, Happy Wheels, Tri-County Family Ministries, Birds of Prey, MUSC Senior Mentors, Operation Christmas Child, STAR Pet Therapy, Salvation Army, Winwood Farms, Water Missions International, American Red Cross, Lutheran Hospice, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and more!!

 

All who live in Mt. Pleasant and the surrounding areas are welcome at the “Fall into Volunteering” Fair.
