Franke Employee Rides for Charity
October 5, 2011 (Mt. Pleasant) Payback is a bee, bumble bee that is! Friday, September 30, Franke at Seaside Wellness Director, Tomas Mendez, began his fundraising drive for the Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope dressed as Captain Bumble Bee giving all the Franke residents a chance to payback the fitness guru.
Mr. Mendez made a commitment to the Franke residents that he would ride on a stationary bike one minute for each dollar they donated to the cause. He mounted his bike at 9:00 a.m. and the donations started rolling in. After 7.5 hours of cycling, 125 miles ridden, and 4000 calories burned, Mr. Mendez made a wobbling dismount from the bike with over $800 in donations raised! Read more...

April 12, 2011 (Mt. Pleasant) The Past Prime Time Players of Franke at Seaside’s Active Lifestyle Community will present Neil Simon’s comedy “The Odd Couple” (female version) at a matinee performance April 28, 2:00 pm, and evening performances April 29 and 30th at 7:00 pm in Rodenberg Hall on Franke’s campus. Tickets may be purchased for $15 from the Concierge Desk in Franke’s Burges Center, 1500 Franke Drive in Mount Pleasant, or by calling 843-375-5011, Monday through Friday, and 843-296-0604, evenings and weekends. Norbergs named Franke Volunteers of the year
From the Moultrie News (August 03, 2010) The Volunteer of the Year Award was given this year to a couple, Ed and Nancy Norberg, who have enhanced and grown the Volunteer Program at Franke at Seaside. They have been a team since they wed on Sept. 8, 1962. The Norbergs work tirelessly and selflessly for the good of all our residents. They are always warm and friendly, greeting you with a smile. Lutheran Homes Hosts 3rd Annual Wii Bowling Tournament
May 18, 2010 (Columbia) Seven teams from the Lutheran Homes of South Carolina retirement communities competed to win the coveted honor of 'Wii Bowling Champions' at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Columbia. Active seniors from across the state donned their wrist straps and used their remote controllers in a frame-by-frame virtual battle for the champion title. The teams represented residents from each of the Lutheran Homes communities -- Franke at Seaside (Mt. Pleasant), the Heritage at Lowman (White Rock), Rice Home (Columbia), RoseCrest (Inman), and Trinity on Laurens (Aiken). Click here to see coverage of the event from WLTX TV.
